Andrew Vickerman – Chairman
From 1998 to 2009 Andrew was a member of the Operating and Executive Committees of Rio Tinto and from 1994 to 1998 he was Finance Director of Lihir Gold Limited. Prior to that he worked with RTZ Mining & Metals. With a background in economics and finance he has previously worked as a consultant for the World Bank and has travelled extensively over the past thirty years.
Christopher Gower – CEO
Christopher began his career in Australia in the marketing department of an international publishing house. After relocating to the UK, he became an in-house lawyer and gained experience in the fields of environmental services, environmental remediation and manufacturing.
Gerry O’Donohoe – Chief Financial Officer
Gerry is based in London and has over 30 years experience in the finance, investment banking and leasing sectors. Gerry has worked in senior roles at Deloittes, Lloyds of London, Nikko Securities, Babcock & Brown and latterly at Ascendos Rail Leasing which was successfully sold to Pamplona Capital Management in 2016. He is a Chartered Accountant and holds an MBA in finance from City, University of London.
Vincent Sweeney – Non-Executive Director & Company Secretary
Vincent is the managing partner at Sydney Capital Partners, an investment banking advisory firm. Vincent spent many years as a senior partner at major accounting firm Deloitte, where he served on the national management team and was their managing partner for both the Audit & Assurance and the Corporate Finance divisions. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce, an MBA and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Dr Fiona McCarthy – Senior Process Engineer
Dr Fiona McCarthy has a Bachelor of Metallurgical Engineering & PhD in Process Metallurgy from the University of New South Wales. Fiona’s experience includes several years as a resources industry analyst for AME Mineral Economics, in the role of senior analyst. Since 2009, Fiona and her team have continued to refine the DNi Process™ with the operation of the pilot plant taking place in 2013. Fiona was the Technical Programme Process Engineer during plant operation. She continues to lead the Perth technical team’s laboratory work and engineering studies.
Chamika Don – Process Chemist
Chamika completed his Bachelors in Applied Chemistry and Masters in Chemical Engineering at Curtin University, Western Australia. He has been part of the technical team since 2011. Prior to joining DirectNickel, Chamika was employed at Parker Cooperative Centre for Integrated Hydrometallurgy Solutions at CSIRO Waterford as a student researcher.
